Shortly before the season started, we celebrated the long-awaited arrival of a healthy baby white rhino on the conservancy. Now just three months old, he still keeps very close to his mother, and is growing beautifully. Given how precious he is to us, our hearts go out to those reserves near us where recent rhino poaching has seen the deaths of two magnificent rhino. We wish the local authorities and conservancy staff all speed and success in tracking down those responsible.
If the rhino has been our star baby, his co-star is definitely our first baby buffalo to be born into the Lion Roars stable. Born into a fit and healthy breeding herd just before Christmas, our handsome new boy has given guests many a wonderful sighting.
His young playmates include 3 gorgeous baby giraffes who have yet to grow into their legs and grace, and who race around in circles bumping into each other and having a great time being alive.
