The Challenge4aCause bike ride is a nine-day cycle challenge organised by Cape Town based tour operator Rhino Africa. The challenge covers a route through Damaraland in Namibia, one of the oldest and most versatile deserts in the world.
Pete Allanson will be cycling a leg-trembling 330km through the desert, to raise funds for the Save the Rhino Trust. Last year In 2009, 18 people cycled 330km across the desert to raise R300, 000 for Save The Rhino Trust.
The Trust operates in Damaraland and seeks to stop poaching and protect the wild rhino population.
In 2010, 18 more challengers have stepped up to the plate and with their help we hope to raise a further R 200, 000 for Save The Rhino Trust, to ensure the continued operation of these vital anti-poaching units.
We'll soon be publishing the details of our Conservation Fundraising Bank Account, and hope you'll join us in supporting Pete and this amazing cause.
